The Election 'Circus' in India

There was a time when monarchy and dictatorship had their firm roots all around the world.   Gradually , ‘Democracy’ became the way of life. The global definition of ‘Democracy’ by Abraham Lincoln is “A government of the people, by the people and for the people”. But , looking at the current scenario  of the Indian Government, can we say it is truly democratic?
Steep rise in corruption scandals, inflation , lack of job opportunities, increased taxes , criminal acts  have deeply displeased the citizens of India.

The latest controversy of Indian Elections was that lakhs of names were cancelled from the voters list. Now whether that was some technical error or some political stunt , the truth is still not known to us. We should understand , that the lack of even a single voter in a democracy , impairs the security of all . We, as citizens should also understand the importance of voting , unite  and take an initiative  to promote the same.

Religious and regional issues continue to be used for political gimmicks. With criminalization of politics becoming modus operandi, true democracy cease to exist. Political parties rule the country for money, power, position for their own interests without actually striving to do anything for the country.

Before elections they promise to change the law & order of the country, increase safety for citizens , improve the infrastructure and the list goes on … but ,   what happens after the party wins the election? Answer : What India is currently experiencing.

What do we see at those Political Rallies that are happening over the last few weeks? One party blaming the other and trying hard to convince the locals there that they are ‘Better’.
Economy of India is at a standstill , Rupee is constantly becoming weak , unemployment , recession etc… Can we ever eradicate these? Yes, we can. Only if we all come together and bring the change in the society ourselves. The citizens should stand strong to be able  to terminate corrupt & devilish politicians befooling the uneducated and poor people to get the vote bank.

India is in a desperate need of 'REAL' leaders who can transform the current system and make it truly democratic & free from corruption, and that is only possible if the current political system is transformed, culminating into a better society to live in.

To conclude, I would just like to say one thing,
"May the Best Man Win ! " 😊
